Day #9: Jasper Revision

Not a good writing day. I've been letting the kids stay up too late. And then after I finally get them to bed, I stay up too late doing all the things I can't do with them around. You know, walk from one room to the next without being stopped. Or have a couple thoughts. In a row. Or simply finish up writing.

But I need to get better. I need to be firm with them. I'm a bit of a pushover these days. Just lots going on. Things have been a bit harder the last couple weeks.

Alright, moving on! I'm sure this whole me posting my sentences is not nearly as interesting for all of you as it is for me. But it's been a great way for me to motivate myself. I look forward to finding a few sentences to share after I'm done with my writing time. So, without further ado, here's the lucky winners of today's writing:

Holt’s words had changed Velvet. Her shoulders slumped, her lips turned down and her eyes were dull and vacant. Jasper wanted to save her.

But he stayed hidden in the shadows.

Random Question of the Day: What is your children's summer bedtime schedule like? Got any tips for me? I'm pretty sure the solution is a nanny. Or shock collars.

Or maybe just sticking to a routine.

Yeah...because, like I'd use shock collars on my own kids. As if. Now....some of the neighbor's kids....that's a different story all together...

Day #6: Jasper Revision

Oh! I'm having such great fun with my revision. Mostly. Sometimes I want to tear all my hair out or punch a hole in the wall or you know, start throwing things at people. But usually I just start pinning things on Pinterest.

It's better that way.

I'm starting up on Chapter 4. I feel good about my progress. I like how the revision is shaping up thus far.

Here's some of my favorite sentences from today:

One withered hand pointed a long boney finger at Jasper.
A dry, scratchy voice emerged from within the shadows of the hood. “I know what you are.”

Random Question of the Day: What's your go-to midnight snack? I just polished off a bunch of cracker peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwiches.

Although, mine were not nearly this pretty. Nope. They
were just slapped together and thrown into my mouth.

 Yum.

Day #2 Jasper Revisions

As I am deep in my Revision Cave, I don't have much to blog about.

That would make a nice office, right? Then
you'd feel justified in wearing authorly
tweed jackets with suede elbow patches.

But it's motivating to post about my progress, so I'm going to try something, the idea of which I yanked from Joseph Ramirez (whom I adore and wish I was able to set up with every cute young friend of mine because he is just that awesome).

I'm going to post the *last few sentences I work on everyday.

Today's sentences:

"Jasper had to try. He had to know the truth."

*I reserve the right to choose different sentences if the last ones are just so fabulous that I must keep the pretty shiny things all to myself. Or...if they're just stinky.
